Linking To A Dynamic Page in Wix
The year is 2020, just like my vision. So I'm protecting it with these blue light glasses. As we dive in onto the laptop and into the tutorial, as I promised you, this is going to be lightening fast, I'm going to show you how to link to a dynamic page on your website. And we're going to do that in our social network that we've been building, because you want to see some more of these building a social network in Wix videos. I know it cause you tell me all the time and I'm providing.
So what we're going to do is whatever page you want to add this button on is totally your call. You decide where you place this. A lot of times, what you're going to do is you're going to use the button to actually link to a dynamic page. You can use text too, if you want like a text link, but we're going to use a button in this video. And we're simply going to just go ahead and add it on the homepage for the purpose of showing you how to link to dynamic page.
So we're going to go to add, and then we are going to go to button. We're just going to pick a button we want to use does not matter the style. You pick whatever floats your boat, whatever matches the style of your social network. And then you're going to hover over this little link button. You're going to click it. And then you're going to choose a page. You're going to drop down this page menu, and you're going to see dynamic pages down here. That's right previously, you were not able to do this in Wix. Now you are.
So when you choose which page you'd like to link to, you can actually click any one of the dynamic pages you have built for your social network. So we want to link back to the user profile. What we can do is we can go ahead and click that user profile button, and it's going to ask us to choose which item I'm going to choose mine because I'm the logged in user. And I'm the only profile on the social network. And I'm going to choose to open it in the current window and I'm then going to press done. I'm going to save it. I am going to publish now. I am going to view my site and then I'm going to test the button to see if it works.
And it works just like that. You are redirected to your profile page, just like one click of a button and that's it. And now you're here at the profile page and you can see the different statuses and it looks like a lot of you have come into this social network and have uploaded statuses. I still have to show you how to actually make it display your own statuses, which is actually very easy to do. And that's going to come in one of our next videos. So stay tuned to that.
