5 SEO Tips To Boost Your Website's Traffic in an Hour or Less

SEO or search engine optimization is a crucial part of the success of your website. SEO enables you to bring new eyes to your page. Obviously, the more traffic you get the better your website performs (if it is designed properly). However, SEO is a topic that website owners are constantly attempting to debunk. The reason being, SEO is difficult for some. Although, I'm here to deliver you the good news; it is not that difficult. 

Listen, there are billions of websites and webpages out on the World Wide Web, and I know it feels nearly impossible to get yours to rank on Google. However, there are various little tips, tricks and hacks you can attempt to make your website hit Google's page one for your keywords. 

In this article, I would like to share 5 SEO tips that will help boost your website traffic within an hour or less. 

1. Use creative titles and descriptions for each page

On your Wix website, you actually have the ability to change the title and descriptions on your individual pages. These titles and descriptions are considered your meta-data. This data is then translated onto Google and other search engines. The more relevant and descriptive your page titles and descriptions are, the more your website will be found on Google. 

When you are writing these titles and descriptions, try your best to keyword load. Now, I don't mean write a description full of keywords, but try to implement the relevant keywords your website reflects in your description. Also, for a title, it is always good to include a relevant title of the page plus the location of your website or business. It improves your SEO, because Google can then target that location. 

To access your page SEO settings, go up into your Page Manager and then click the three little dots next to the page and then click Page SEO. From there you can access that vital SEO page information to boost your website traffic. 

2. Choose a solid URL

If you are just starting your website and you have not chosen your URL yet, wait and be patient. This is often an oversight on someone's website. Make it a priority. When finding a URL you want to try and target the keywords of your market. Also, your URL should be short and sweet. You want your URL to somewhat explain what your website is and also be catchy enough for people to remember.

A few items to avoid when choosing a URL:

• Try to avoid double letters between two words. (Example: teenageentrepreneur.com)

• Try to avoid long URL's

• Try to avoid URL's that are tough to spell

Overall, the URL, although often quickly put together, is a big piece of your SEO efforts. Make sure you take the time to really think about different URL names and get feedback from people to determine the best one. 

3. Always add ALT text to your images

Many people often do not know about ALT text and its purpose. However, it actually serves a fairly important role in your SEO. ALT text is almost like an invisible title on your picture that Google reads to correctly place it in their search engine.

ALT text can be placed on all of your images when you add them. Just single click after you place your image on your website, in your blog, etc. 

The ALT text should try to effectively use keywords while also being relevant. Having ALT text will help Google recognize your website better and will allow Google to read your images to improve your rankings. 

4. Header and Footer

I know some of these methods may be new to you, but this one is often so simple yet overlooked as well. The proper use of your header and footer in SEO is vital and can actually contribute to your success. 

In your Header try to include the following:

• Social media links (Have links or icons to your social media)

• Provide a business phone number for people to contact you

• Provide a logo or clickable text that links right back to your homepage

In your Footer try to include the following:

• The location of your website/business (City and State)

• Proper contact information (phone number, email, address)

• Sitemap

• Social media if you did not include it in your header

If you include all of these items in your header and footer, you will greatly increase your SEO efforts.
