That's it for now. Let's jump into today's video.

Adding Elements in Editor X

All right guys, so we're here in Editor X and in our last video we went over the inspector panel and all that was involved within the inspector panel.

Today, I want to show you just getting familiar with your workspace and Editor X. This is going to be a very quick tutorial for you. It's just about adding elements. To add elements, previous from the old classic editor, you would have a little add a symbol over here on the left hand side, kind of like a big icon. Now that's changed in the new interface and you can actually go and add elements up here in the top left side and click add elements.

From this point you have basically all of the elements you were able to add in the classic editor, however, not everything, so there are certain things and I don't have a whole list of all the things that you don't have the ability to add just via the Quick Ads at the moment, but it's not the entire scope of everything you had in the classic Add Editor. And I'll tell you why.

That's because in the classic Add you had a lot of the Wix apps that you can add and then sub categories within that. Well now you can add those, but they're their own separate edition. So now you add Wix Blog as a whole, you add Wix Store as a whole, Wix Bookings, Events, Members, Sections, Content Manager, which is Corvid by Wix, which is the database manager. Instead of having them all intermingled up here in, in different sections, they're now each on their own section with their own app dedicated right there. So it's actually quicker to add things quicker to find things.

They've also tightened up their overall Add Menu. So instead of having a whole bunch of variety, they've created one core category such as texts. They'll have theme text titles, buttons, you'll see text buttons and this is for this particular theme. So there's themed buttons, you'll see menu, you have different menus, you can add galleries through media. So you'll have video, you'll have images, you'll have audio.

All of those are now collectively under media. Whereas before that was a little different. There was one for video, there was one for pictures. There's one for audio. They've kind of grouped things now in categories. Same with decorative, you have shapes, vector art, video boxes, stuff like that. Contact forms, maps, and then social.

So you can see there are not as many apps or I should say additions as there was in the classic editor. My understanding is that Wix is working toward adding all of those into Editor X, at least the most popular core additions that happened most often in the classic editor, but remember you still do have all of your classic Wix apps in all the new Wix apps as well as Corvid. Plus you have your Wix dashboard, so you've got the CRM, you've still got all of the classic Wix elements, just not with all the classic Wix elements as additions in the editor at the moment.

Conclusion

So I hope that makes sense and I hope this video helped you in terms of how to add things. And then same as before you would come in here if you want this title, you would click bold title and then there you go. You've got your bold title over here, you got your inspector panel that opens up and then you can edit text here and edit your title and that's how you add element in editor act. Same as classic editor in terms of actually clicking, adding, dragging and dropping, but now in a different format, more updated, more modern.

If this video helped you out, I would kindly ask you to drop a like down below, comment and let me know if you've got any questions regarding this.

And like I said, there might be a little confusion about what is in the actual Add Element Section now and what's still not included. That was included in the classic editor. I don't have all the answers on that quite yet, but when Wix releases some of those answers, I will be sure to update you.

And then lastly, as mentioned, you do not want to miss any of this Editor X content. I'm not kidding when I said it will allow us to add 300, 400 more videos to the channel and you're not going to want to miss any of them.

So make sure to click that subscribe button and turn those bell notifications on. And plus you'll instantly join the wicks largest Wix training community on the internet. Great place to be when you're learning a brand new editor here with Wix in Editor X.
